CHRIS Harris, Belle Vue’s captain last season, has jumped into the void caused by the injury to current skipper and No 1, Rory Schlein.
Harris, who returned to Coventry during the winter, offered to help the Autogate Aces out of a hole after the news came out that Schlein had broken a bone in his left foot during last Monday’s home match against Birmingham.
He will guest in the rearranged home fixture against Eastbourne at Kirkmanshulme Lane next Monday (7 30) and has made himself available for any other matches if his diary is clear....

BELLE Vue speedway boss David Gordon has announced that the club are targetting the start of next season for racing to open at the club's £6m new stadium in Kirkmanshulme Lane, Gorton.
The Autogate Aces supremo has given a definite target for the first time after a prolonged spell of detailed negotiations during which time there was little news he could announce.
The actual building should take six months and then the club will have a stadium which will bring World championship racing to Manchester.

BELLE Vue will be without Rory Schlein, their No 1 and captain, for a month after he broke the fifth metatarsal in his left foot in a first race fall at Kirkmanshulme Lane last night.
The Autogate Aces, already without Charlie Gjedde who had withdrawn because of a family illness in Denmark, faced a one-sided battle after Schlein had been taken to hospital and lost 57-33 to Birmingham in an Elite League match.
The loss of Schlein was the latest blow in a miserable season for the Aces who had already lost Aussie Adam Shields, who retired,...

BELLE Vue will be without Charlie Gjedde for tonight's home Elite League match against Birmingham (7 30) with fellow Dane Ulrich Ostergaard, his double up partner, coming in to replace him.
Gjedde has returned home to Denmark to be with his father who has suffered a heart attack.
Team manager Jim Lynch said: "The club send the Gjedde family our best wishes."
