Absolutely brilliant news. Well done Dave and Chris, let us hope that the Council have the foresight to see the advantages this will bring to the City, not only employment, which is sorely needed in the construction industry but lots of good publicity and cash as well if prestige events are attracted to the new stadium.

I do hope that this all comes off. It will be a just reward for all the old BV fans who have suffered since the closure of Hyde Road. Surely the council cannot turn this down? After all, if Leicester can do it with only half of the history of the Aces, then Manchester Council must act ? I am reliving the magic of the old BLRCs at Hyde Road, and hoping that we will see them again. At the moment the ELRC is pretty meaningless, but put it in the new stadium, and happy times are here again.
Thank you to the BV promotion for re kindling the flame of the old BV, and we will all be praying that this happens, and very soon

Hi All!
Have just registered on the forum.
I've been an avid supporter of the Aces since first visiting Hyde Road in 1967 and have followed the forum with great interest.Thought it was about time I joined in the fun!
Have read the article about the new stadium and think its the best news to have come out of Belle Vue for a long time.
I have responded already to the request and posted a comment on the MEN website and have also sent an email to Richard Leese of Manchester Council.
The stadium looks fantastic and I sincerely hope it happens asap.

The best news I've heard in years. A brand new stadium for the most famous Speedway Club in the world and a great addition to Manchester - the home of SPORT

If this was to happen, I would ask all the knockers and sceptics and stayaway supporters to think hard about the negative comments they have thrown at the likes of Chris, Dave and the other volunteers who support the cause that is Belle Vue over recent seasons. Blind faith has its moments.

For almost everyone this has been a revelation, a possible miracle that the "hyde road" effect could well be a reality once again in our lifetime with a big track residing in Manchester and proudly the home of the Belle Vue Aces.

What rider in the world wouldnt want to come ?

It is time for the fans to do their part as Rob says and get those letters written and posted to the council.

If we do not take this opportunity with two hands then we are guilty of letting it go, no-one else.

New stadium will be right next door to current stadium which is good as a still in the Belle Vue area and also local residents already use to the noise etc.

Aeriel view :

Stadium will take the place of the hockey pitch on right side and the grass going upto current stadium. The hockey pitch behind replaced will then be turned 90 degrees and on the centre green, will be astroturf so always green.

If it does happen I`d like to thank the Management for their forward thinking , Hopefuly ALL Speedway Fans nationally will support this Plan , By registering their support with the Council.

Reading the Report in the MEN , there is mention of "Family-Friendly" Race Nights which to me means Friday or Saturday Nights , which in itself may create problems attracting Top Quality Riders , Friday is GP Practice Day , and obviously Saturday is GP Night , it`s a difficult one

Anyway total resepect to Mort , David & Co getting this far, Hopefully this is just the 1st step of a wonderful Journey

Lucky Ps - Can we have a Bydgoscz League Match type surface .... NOT the GP Surface !!!
