Yes it could be tricky - crowds might go up, as they have done at Poole through proactive marketing and promotion. Maybe we should let Perrin and Vernon run it down instead?

Then again the rules might be changed to accommodate their new Elite League Club and give it more TV coverage, to ensure that it doesn't run at a loss in its 1st EL season!!

Come on Tony keep up and lets not fall out... we all want what's best for BV in particular and speedway in general!?

Some promoters are not so generous of spirit towards the well BEEing of other clubs!!?

What I don't get is the negativity around the Russels and Matt Ford. Contrary to belief up here, they do not operate some form of cartel. Matt Ford has only one thing that he focusses on, which is the success of Poole Speedway - his business. Look at the asset base he has built up and then contrast it with what Tony Mole has inherited? Look at the way he has built his crowds up? Look at how he really looks after his sponsors, etc. Then look at how Perrin & Co. ran Belle Vue.

The hottest new prospect in Sweden right now is Sebastian Alden and I would be prepared to wager that PNJ hadn't even heard of him, let alone following his progress like Ford is doing. That's why Poole ends up with Lindback and we end up with Tobias.

As far as I'm concerned, Ford or Russell promoting at Sheffield would be good for the sport giving us another EL team in a decent stadium.

Bjarne Pedersen, Hans Andersen, Antonio Lindback; Poole are obviously doing something wrong in finding, signing and nurturing young riders who have developed into GP riders.
Lindgren at Wolves, Risager at Coventry, etc., the list goes on.
Compare that with BV's forays into the foreign rider pool in Perrin's time in charge. He could hardly be described as having his finger on the pulse. He seemed to have no idea at all of who the future prospects were; that's why we ended up with the likes of Tobias, etc.
It wouldn't be a good thing if too many tracks were under the control of too few people, but it would be better that they were in the safe hands of competent promoters.
I think Machin has done a great job for Sheffield in the PL, but that's where he wants to stay ( no superstars to pay, no GP disruption, a title-challenging team of British riders every season; so who can blame him ).
So, if Russell, Ford or their cohorts buy out Machin to put the Tigers in the EL, it would certainly be a mixed blessing.

think its more likely that the 2 teams the BSPA are trying to persuade to go elite full time are Hull and Reading
