Would never work mate, maybe if the athletics track had stayed after the commonwealth games we could have used that but now it has all been filled in with seats there is no room and no chance!
Theres always a track which hasn't been mentioned at all yet for some reason. Thats the Regional Athletics Arena right next to citys stadium. Holds about 6000, and looks alright as well!

Is that not used by an athletics club though? If not then that would be a great venue.

Belle Vue Aces have a home at Belle Vue Stadium along with the all important permission to run speedway meetings. The club also have plans to erect temporary golf-style spectator accommodation along the length of the back straight from the start of this coming season thanks to the excellent relationship they have with the Greyhound people. Work on the track itself is also high on the list of priorities. A team that contains riders whose names haven't been mentioned on this site is being put together by four gentlemen who care about Belle Vue Speedway as much as we do, but instead of decrying everything like certain supporters, two of them have dug deep into their own pockets and have ensured that our club, 1)Is in a position to continue forward. 2)Is in the right hands. 3)Gives you handful of doomsday merchants something to live for. 4)Will brush this minor inconvenience of having to give the rest of the league a head start to one side, and finish the season at the other end of the table from where everybody and their brother is predicting we are destined to end up.
Back to the point, how many of you who are already talking about picking your meetings at this stadium, would show up at every meeting at a "stadium" like Redcar in the back of beyond where you had to stand on a pile of rubble in driving rain in gale force winds then attempt to negotiate your way, ankle deep in mud, down the single lane access road to the main road, then wait at the bus stop for the first of your three buses home, at least one of which is guaranteed not to show up, or will be full by the time you reach the front of the queue.
This would be a weeknight as well thanks to the GP dictating our leagues.
I know which choice I would rather have.
See you at Kirky Lane at the Peter Craven Memorial Trophy in ten weeks. (if you decide to come for that meeting)

I wouldnt care if we had the worst seven riders in the world as I am an aces fan through and through. We should be thankful for what we have, however we have to look to the future and see what we can do.

Terry,

Intelligent reasoning and an articulate outline of our current situation, all I would expect from you.

For me, Belle Vue has been recaptured from the imposters by real Aces people who were left in a near impossible position from which they are carefully regrouping. Whichever 7 we have, will carry my support. I don't expect a great season but if there is attractive racing at Kirky Lane this next year then I won't be disappointed if the trophy cabinet isn't full.

I'm happy we still have Kirky Lane. Dreams of a great new stadium will remain just that...dreams

As the person who opened this thread i can only admire everyones thoughts on a new stadium..Although it would be nice i realise in this age it would be financially inmpossible so lets enjoy what we have and give the team a real boost by turning up in numbers this coming season..I for one am convinced we will do well this year the "Biggest name in speedway" is still alive..We are in the best hands possible now and am sure they have the right riders for BV in mind.so lets enjoy an Aces resurgance
