Llandow is a nice quiet secluded site about 20 mins from cardiff located in a small village and close to several beaches. Costs £12.00 per person per night and is also handy for a bit of sea angling, probably take the beach rod and have a few days here spending the evenings in cardiff, beats the rip off hoteliers.

Lavernock point in penarth just has the large field for camping that they only open up to people attending the millenium stadium, you have to produce your tickets to gain entry. The other accomodation is chalets and bungalows. Llandow which is in cowbridge about 20/30 mins from cardiff allows caravans, the price for july which is high season is £14 for a van plus two people. This is a nicer and quiter site, its open from feb to nov, camping here i take the train to cardiff from penarth, takes about 12 mins costs about £2.20 return and the last train back is late.
