Youngy, could you tell me how the race order is dictated in the SWC?, how is it determined who races V who, i mean individually?, & are you allowed any sort of R/R?

BA
I'll try my best.

5 riders per team numbered 1 to 5. All corresponding numbers meet in the first 5 heats and then all riders meet each other throughout the course of the meeting.

There are no reserves this year. This was vetoed due to the farce that occured last year with under-performing riders suddenly becoming injured or ill. If a team were to lose a rider in that riders first heat then they could possibly have to run his heats without a rider (dependent on their score).

If a team is six points behind they can nominate a tactical substitute (which is what GB did tonight when Bomber took Steady's fourth ride) or can nominate to play the 'Joker' where points count double. Nicholls joker tonight was worth 00.

No rider can have more than six rides either.

I think that's it.

This was disgraceful. What insentive was there for Stead and Allen for starters....for 6 yrs or so we have watched this Danish team mature from young lads into champs admitedly they have had the backing from their athourities.Team GB take note and learn.

p.s Jim Lynch what good is a chat in the carzy, you into cottaging now because your management and motivation were not worth a toss

THAT WAS FAR FAR WORSE THAN DISGRACEFULL!! why oh why was Jim Lynch appointed as team manager?? he couldn't motivate my backside!! why did we pick that side?? no disrespect but Simon and Olly aren't and won't ever be world class! and now our entire hopes rest on an untried 17yr old kid only in this country could we do that! talk about heaping the pressure on him!! Kennett should of ridden at Brandon!! in speedway terms lets be frank here we aren't a nation and never will be! until we stop the foreign influx into the premier league and allow our youngsters to mature and race!!

Last night was embarrassing - no other word for it.
We were so woefully bad that I can't see how bringing in Kennett would have made that much difference.
Denmark and Sweden were in a different league to our lads and I'm scratching my head to think what Jim Lynch could have done with the pool of riders he has to choose from.

WAs it just me or did 'Team GB' remind anyone else of the England football team? Hype hype hype.......struggle....flounder.....fluster!

IF they qualify, which I very much doubt, it will be down to luck only. Listening to Lynch talking on Sky was dire, he couldn't sell a banana to a hungry monkey!!! Good to see the Coventry track specialist team he fielded give their all for their country.

Never thought I'd say this but, bring back Middlo!

Thanks Chris, some great reading there, NOT, was like pulling teeth!!

My only other quiery is how the riders have their numbers picked, i.e. who has jacket 1, 2, 3, & so on.I know they will all race the same amount of heats but who you will race against will surely be decided by which number in the team you are & so this will have an outcome on the eventual winners! Is this done randomly or through some kind of rider average?!

Interestin, AJ wasn't happy he only got 9 points! Bomber was best with 8.5 (Still think Lingren beat him!) Team GB should be glad the Czech didn't have Lukas Dryml. Lucky not to finish last! And stop blamin the team manager all the time! We don't have the riders to win, full stop! Don't think Alex Fergenson could win us the World Cup with our squad!
