Default Edinburgh Relegation Playoff

BELLE Vue will face Edinburgh in the two-leg decider for a place in next season's Elite League.
Edinburgh won the right to challenge the One51 Aces for their place in speedway's top flight by completing a shock win over favourites, King's Lynn, in the Premier League play-off final on Tuesday night.
Edinburgh, who won their home leg by 20 points, wrapped up their big showdown date 97-83 on aggregate after losing 47-41 in the away leg.
The Scottish club, who include Belle Vue's former American rider Ryan Fisher and Pole Michal Rajkowski, stage the first leg on Saturday with the return at the greyhound stadium in Kirkmanshulme Lane on Monday (7 30).
Stockport rider James Wright will be fit for the Aces, despite being left battered and bruised after a crash at Ipswich last week during Great Britain's Under-25 Test match defeat by Australia.
Wright has assured team boss Chris Morton that he will be okay but, to be on the safe side, he has cancelled midweek open bookings to work on being ready without risking further injury.
Morton said: “James was feeling a bit beaten up after the crash at Ipswich which left him badly bruised.
“But he has told me he will give some open bookings a miss to make sure he is ready for what are two very important fixtures for us.
“We are taking these matches very seriously because we have riders who have never been to Edinburgh, the same as they have riders who have never been to Belle Vue.
“We are certainly not taking anything for granted because they are racing in a lower division than us.”
Richard Sweetman, the young Birmingham rider who is doubling up with the Aces, will come in at reserve alongside Ulrich Ostergaard, who will be returning to Belle Vue action after his broken knee cap injury.
Ostergaard guested for King's Lynn against Edinburgh in place of the injured Darcy Ward on Tuesday and scored nine points and two bonus from five rides.
Morton is reserving a decision on the top end of his team where Jason Crump will be absent. He returned to hospital this week, following his World title triumph in Poland on Saturday, for further examinations on his injured arm.
The Aces' chief added: “It's good to know that James and Ulrich will be okay and there are options on what we can do in terms of covering for Jason and Lubos Tomicek.”
Morton, thrilled at seeing Crump finally clinch his third World title, said: “Jason showed all the attributes of the real champion he is by gritting his teeth and battling through the pain barriers in the Italian and Polish GPs. He had a job to do and he got out there on the track to make it happen for himself in style.
“He was outstanding earlier in the season when he built up a commanding lead and there's no doubt he had deserved the title for a long time before it arrived. It would have been an injustice if he hadn't won it and, judging from the reactions of other riders, they felt the same way.
“To score eight points in a Grand Prix is a big ask, especially when you are carrying an injury like that. You cannot mess around with the kind of serious burn that Jason suffered because the damage a serious fall could have caused doesn't bear thinking about.”
THE Stockport 2006 Cycle Speedway Club are hosting the fourth annual memorial meeting in honour of Dave Blinston, who died in 2005, on Saturday.
There will be a small junior event at noon with the senior individual meeting, run over 20 heats for 16 top riders from the North and Midlands, at 2-0pm.
Belle Vue regulars who remember him are invited to attend at St Thomas' Recreation ground, Webb Lane, Hall Street, Offerton.
