Agree with 90% of what Brian Renshaw has said.

Enjoyed seing Darcy, Charlie looked a big improvement, and there were some good races.

However I think it's a bit harsh to say we lacked the kiler instinct. I saw more aggression from our team last night than in the whole season put together.
Heat 13 was really aggressive from Krzys and Charlie when I expected they would settle in for a 3-3, and James Wright was giving it everything in heat 14.
Heat 15 was bitterly disappointing, but they got the best gates and did us from the start.

But Oh dear...we've got to sort out the tractor racing...one or two laps every 3 races ok, but not 9 or 10 laps!!!!!!!

Such long gaps between races just kills the already weak atmosphere. We have about as much atmosphere as a cemetery on a wet thursday morning.
If we're going to have 15 minute breaks for tractor racing we've got to get back a Brendan Kearney type centre green man who can fill in with interviews.

Strange meeting last night, similar to the Poole meeting in that came away feeling like we had lost despite winning. Gates 1 & 3 were a massive advantage all night, Lakeside started off on those gates and got the 5-1 in heat 1 which was a bad start which kept us 4 down until heat 6 where were pulled it level with a 5-1.

We then had gates 1 & 3 for the next 4 heats and took advantage pulling out 10 point lead. Lakeside used the tactical to get it back to 7, then for me heat we dropped points was heat 12, Ward and Hougaard were on 3-3 behind Shields, but Ward got out of shape few times and Hougaard had to shut off and lose momentum which allowed Morris up the inside. Heat 13 was a great fight back though, Richardson gated and was away but Kasprzak reeled him in and passed him up the inside going into the first bend, and took him wide, Richardson then shut off which allowed Gjedde past too off the second bend.

It went down to heat 15 Aces need anything apart from 5-1 against to get the extra point, Lakeside won the toss and took 1 & 3 which was bad to start with then Richardson and Shields jetted out of the tapes onto a 5-1, Kasprzak nearly got up the inside of Shields coming off the second bend but couldn't pull it off like he did in heat 13.

For Belle Vue :

Kasprzak : first ride off gate 4 made bad gate and got a nudge going into the first bend and went very wide, 3 good wins after that including great heat 13, pity about heat 15

Ward : didn't expect too much and was right, Kirky Lane is a lot harder track to learn for first time then Coventry, struggled a bit

Wright : decent points but didn't do anything spectacular, beat Davidsson twice but then was beaten by him in heat 14 trying everything to get up inside of him

Gjedde : more like the old Charlie round Kirky Lane, made a some decent gates but was aggressive when behind riding outside line

Risager : did a good consistent job again

Hougaard : rode well in the middle but had two poor heats to start and end with. Heat 2 looked like he maybe didn't have fuel switched on at the start and threw away points there and heat 12 when passed by Morris and then couldn't find way back past

Lakeside were mainly 2 man team of Richardson & Shields with couple of odd wins for Kylmakorpi, Davidson and Niemenen.

Whilst I agree that we do not need any distractions from the racing, at least we didnt endure a needless interval?

Yes cut back the amount of time if it is necessary, but since when have we resorted to clock watching on track grading?

If everything we say about the track is true, that at times it is garbage, how does the Glynn get the opportunity to ammend for that?

To suggest that someone can do the work in one or two laps should get a bigger laugh than half my posts, right?

A call from the referee to the Clerk of the Course confirmed that Patrick believed he saw a red light in heat 2 after leaving the gate, slowed down immediately, only to realise that the race hadnt stopped. Lucky he carried on getting a vital point.

Only has himself to blame for heat 12 getting tangled up with Darcy and Phil, there certainly wasnt any team riding going on thats for sure.

you sure it was red light and not the red flag because on 1st bend in heat 2 he almost had the flag outstretched!! but i agree with Rob it strangely did feel like a defeat

.
Fair enough if that was the case, another point about that heat as soon as Robson fell the referee should have put the red lights on immediatly because Patrick was coming up behind. Would have then given another chance in rerun.

yeah, there were a couple of weird decisions, but luckily nothing that cost us the match.

On reflection with the number of bike problems Lakeside had, I thought we were quite fortunate really with the final score.

Just one mistake from Lee let us in during heat 13 which swung things.
