Default first visit and now im hooked

i am still buzzing from my first visit last night to belle vue and seeing the aces whoop ass. my god it was soooo much more than i was expecting. i can not explain (or dare say need to) that feeling as the bikes flew out of the gates and the thunder that ran through my entire body as the tape went up and the smell of the engines. It was better than a night on the vodka :-) i am now hooked so hope to continue enjoying the rush and excitement of speedway. thank you moony for the lesson lol x

I know exactly what you mean Jessie. It happened to me just like that. Mind you it was 50 years ago, and it was at the old Leicester Stadium. As a youngster I can recall shivvering and trembling as the bikes revved up at the gate. I know that we always look back through rose tinted glasses, but I think the old Aces fans will say the same. "Things aint what they used to be ".
If you had witnessed some of the fantastic racing at the old Hyde Road Stadium you would have swooned

we just have to hope that we can get somewhere close to what the polish league has, or take a trip over to poland to watch the top teams do battle with 10,000 plus spectators.

Are you lot serious? Do you have to come from Scunthorpe and be endowed with all the cynicism the Town heaps on people to see through this little charade? Scorpions 1 - 0 Belle Vue[}]
