The averages that determines who rides where, do not include bonus points. This is nearly upon with new GSA's out soon us as you have to ride six home and six away.
However, at Wolves, there is a perfect example of how stupid these averages can look. Ronnie Correy with Bonus Points is just behind Johnno for third place on 6.89, however his actual average is 5.11. Meanwhile David Howe is on 5.94 inc bonus points, but his actual average is 5.49. Therefore as it stands, Ronnie Correy will be at reserve next month with Magnus moving up. DAVID HOWE HOME/AWAY; 9 Matches - 35 Rides - 48 Points - 4 BP - 5.94 AVGE = 5.49 RONNIE CORREY HOME/AWAY; 9 Matches - 36 Rides - 46 Points - 16 BP - 6.89 AVGE = 5.11 8.18 (8.64) Mikael Max - 6.83 (7.41) Fredrik Lindgren + 6.26 (7.18) Steve Johnston - 5.49 (5.94) David Howe - 5.30 (6.30) Magnus Karlsson + 5.11 (6.89) Ronnie Correy - 4.57 (5.14) Krzysztof Pecyna + |

I thought averages without bonus points were just for team building at the start of the season.

I must admit I would have assumed that it was CMAs that would be used so..... however we are all in the same boat... Joe will be no 6 most likely.... and Andy Smith will score at leats 6 in the team,,,,,
I don't think that can be said of Magnus K... |

I started this post, not so much as Wolves news, but to show how a rider can have a near seven average, but be credited with one nearly two points lower and wind up in reserve.
As for Magnus not scoring six in the main body, well you may be right, but he has ridden brilliantly this year and could shock as few now and again. With Ronnie and the improving Pecyna (top scored at Poole with 10 last night) at reserve, we can cover his off nights better.
